Too Good's Stormy Seas is a full blooded Chincoteague Pony that I purchased at the annual Pony Penning and Fair put on every year as a fund raiser for the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Department. 2001 was the 76th annual Pony Penning, but the practice has been going on for over 100 years. For more information about the History of the Chincoteague Pony and the annual Pony Penning check out the links at bottom of page. From the moment we got Stormy home, you would have thought that this foal had be imprint trained at birth. You could cuddle, hug, and lavish affection on him and he ate it up. He was so little it was possible to pick him up. He quickly wormed his way into everyone's heart and got spoiled rotten. He is still to this day a sweety pie, but now with the mischivious nature of a teenage boy. He gets into everything, especially with his front legs. He puts a foot in the water trough, the wheelbarrow, in the stall guard, anything and anywhere his feet will fit. He always manages to extricate himself without injury. He is also an escape artist, and his diminutive size does not help. He has figured out that he can fit under many things and has become a skilled player of Limbo. Now that I have rubber chain stall guards at the bottom of my web stall guards he can't "Limbo" his way out anymore. At 12.2 hands you would think that he would be to big, but where there is a will, there is a way. I think he will probably top out at 13.2 or so, and will make a wonderful childrens show pony. We have just begun some basic lunge line training this summer, i.e. learning to stay out on the lunge. I will keep posting milestones as we pass them.
