Jacquet's Denfert (pronounced DonFair) was born on September 9, 1994 in a litter of 7. Her mother Jacquet's Margettes and her father Rowdy Robert Redford are both of the Boxer persuasion. She was the pick of the litter and deemed to have the most perfect face markings. She would have been a champion if it had not been for the unusually dark areas of her coat, which disqualify her from being able to show. The breeder was devastated, he tried everything from blood tests to shaving the area, all to no avail.

My mother works at the veterinary clinic where the breeder brings his dogs, so when he brought in this adorable little puppy with the unusual markings, my mother called me. I was in France at the time, but was due back in the beginning of December and I wanted a Boxer. So when I got home, I went to go pick a puppy and Denfert picked me. She would not allow any other puppies near me, so I figured if she chose me, it was only fair that I choose her back.

In the buying contract, I agreed to breed her once, so in January after her 2nd birthday I bred her to Jacquet's Blackwatch. March 9, 1997, Denfert gave birth to 6 healthy puppies. She was a wonderful, but very neurotic mother. For 2 days after she gave birth, she did not sleep, because every time the pups made a noise she was afraid she was hurting them.

The puppies grew up fast and the breeder got 3 pups, we kept 2 and I sold one to a wonderful family.
